I hate jumpscares. Everybody hates jumpscares. If I see a CS that has a lot of jumpscares then I will not go near it.
So I am going to learn from those mistakes. Jumpscares in my CS will be kept to an absolute minimum (possibly even none at all) because I have seen the crap that was thrown at those devs who created a custom story with a few of those heart-attack-inducing moments and I don't want any of that flung in my direction.
Amnesia is a game about atmosphere. It's Not about pathetic BANG and BOOM scenes that are the least creative and fun way of dragging fear into the game.
I do not recall through the main Amnesia story ANY jumpscares whatsoever so that shows that it is possible to be scary without p*ssing people off.

jumpscares are so irritating when you see one and nearly ****** your pants then you are just sick of the mod already a environment that is a total mindfuck that is scary because it just isn't right whats happening that is scary jumpscares are most of the time not scary at all it is just a shock that's my opinion
I like your opinion about jumpscares.
And my conclusions was that they are **** anyways. That they are FROM UNCREATIVE NOOBS trying to act like big modders and who are in fact totally unable to create a scary environment without it.
Most modders dont seem to even know how scary it can be... just to walk into dark corridors with minimum of light, with just tinderboxes at best and without the lamp.
Or nice plottwists and you lose the lamp maybe a couple of times?
And how insecure you can become when you know you are already followed by the monsters, but they dont show up for a longer time. I dont relax... im becomming more and more nervous.
And jumpscares are just **** that has nothing to do in Amnesia. They make every cs unpleasant and tense, no time to enjoy the show at all.

I recall when in the Choir there was the coffin that flew open, that was like the only jump scare. But yes, not many people realize that, I'm sick of jump scare. Unless they REALLY help with atmosphere and have a purpose, there's no point for them. That is all. *bows*
