Why upscaling? It is your mod, of course, but i personally will be VEERY upset if you re-scale it- i was waiting for Sins mod with a good scale for so long, and i got it. I liked scale in this mod VERY much- it gave me the real feeling of massive space battle, that i could not get in vanilla. And now it is restored..... Moreover in old comments there were ppl who actually liked your old approach to scale.
If anything, I've gotten numerous complaints about ships being too small. That being said, having a mini-mod which retains the current scaling is by no means outside of the question, or vice versa.
Oh please do that, the smaller the ships the better IMO. The zoom in Sins is strong enough to full showcase even the smallest of ships anyway.
I'd even shorten the range a bit more, because having to see a bunch of microbs battle is too sad..Thats the main reason i havent played this mod as much as i wanted too. the best range would be like in sins where u can enjoy the ships battle, because u see the ships, while u dont in this mod.
Also missiles are larger the some ships them selves thats very wrong..
If ur finally going to fix this major problem than id be waiting to play this again. Good luck!
Particle effects are a constant work in progress, as we don't have anyone good with particles currently. The missile effects that are currently ingame have all been taken, or modified from, ones in TotalEffects. I'm painfully aware of how terribly large starfighter missiles are in reference to the ship itself, though I've been struggling in my attempts to downscale the projectiles; when I'll be able to get them right is unknown.
As for restricting range to vanilla Sins' style, this would be very uncharacteristic of SW, where virtually everywhere outside of the movies and with starfighters, combat happened at extremely long ranges. That being said, the Reduced Weapon Ranges addon does indeed reduce nearly all ranges to Sins' capital ship engagement range of 5000; I would highly recommend trying it out!
