Missile Gunship, as it is in EAW. Cannon wise? Corellian Gunship, or DP20 Frigate. It IS complemented by concussion missiles that supplement its dual turbo laser cannons, and quad laser cannons.

Though considering the lack of laser weaponry, I'd say your right :P

The whole "missiles/torpedoes go right thru shields" thing was one of the stupidest things done in EaW. It basically meant that several ships shooting missiles could easily take out any hardpoints they wanted to without worrying about getting the shields down. Basically a bunch of DP20s vs. a Star Destroyer was like the Vasari frigates equipped with phase missiles (forget what that ship class is called) taking on an advent capital with 100% chances of missiles going thru shields.

It was, however, more lore friendly. Standard star ship shielding was meant to absorb blaster fire. proton torpedoes and concussion missiles were handled by armor plating, or evasion. As such, this was probably a deliberate decision by PetroGlyph to adhere to Star Wars cannon.
