Who can blame them though
The Imps are the most popular faction by a wide margin. Can't entirely blame them, the ISD is pretty sexy.
Because the Imperials got **** done? far from what is portrayed they kept the galaxy pretty peaceful and protected its citizens it accomplished a lot and didn't let ******** get in the way. Exactly opposite of what the ******* beauruchratic shitlords of the republic do.

Naw, Palpatine's Empire was a brutal dictator ship with a wonderful humanocentric culture that also loved enslaving non-humans from time to time.
And that is why we love them so much :)
What's wrong with that? Fortune favor's the bold and the mighty. Annnd ooh... the empire was mighty... if only they had the ability to forsee the hole in the multi quintillion dollar space station was going to be a problem.
Which is why I prefer Pellaeon's Empire. Sure it was in massive decline at that point because of all the previous things that happened but they didn't do much (afaik) that was outright terrible, had removed most sexist and humanocentric crap by that time, but still believed in maintaining galactic order through necessary means.
Meanwhile the rebellion struggled to build an identity beyond "we're fighting the evil Empire".
