Hey ya'll,

I'm new around these parts, but I wanted to contribute because honestly this mod is really sick, and it does so many new and interesting things that I think are a push in the right direction.

Now then, I did some digging around, so I know this isn't the first time this issue has been brought up. That being said, there wasn't another thread that I could find in the feedback section which addressed this issue specifically. I don't want to start a whole big discussion necessarily, but my experience has been this: the AI, no matter the difficulty, is crushingly difficult. It really killed enjoying the mod for me, personally. I gave it my best effort. I'm not new to Sins by any stretch, and I put maybe ten to twelve hours into the mod. I do want to love this mod, but it is difficult to do so knowing that no matter what I do, I cannot win.

Again, I know this has been brought up before elsewhere, so I won't go on too much longer. I don't want to pester the creators by bringing up the same old complaints, I just wanted to make it known that there are still people out there having problems.

All the best. Keep being badasses, my dudes. You do good work.

Its possible, but you need to play at lightening speed to capture planets and get your economy up and running as fast as possible. There is no turtling in this mod, if you do, you have already lost the match vs the AI.

I myself have yet to beat a hard AI, but I have won a number of matches vs normal AIs.

You could also play Empire and spam Vindicator Classes. That is how I beat my first normal AI, but I can't even beat the Normal AI on other factions. They overwhelm me with numbers unless I turtle up so much. By the way, how do you play at lightning speed to capture planets? I just can't do that!

And they appear to shit out fleets like there is no tomorrow, if you don't play uber-pro, you can just quit. I don't even want to know why there are "tougher AI" mods...

Used to be quite enjoyable, ok, sometimes a bit to easy, but now, even if you have an Executor/Viscount, they just keep spamming insanely huge fleets at you, even if you just destroyed 15 capital ships and a whole support fleet. Another one will jump in within seconds.

Please, reduce the difficulty a bit, so you can play relaxed games from time to time. The hard challenge should be reserved for the difficulty mods.

Otherwise i have to limit myself to Vanilla Sins/other mods (i don't have the nerve capacity to play stressful games all the time), and i don't want to,because i like the mod, you made it really awesome!

I have to agree on the difficulty part. Its mainly because the Ai is cheating, I mean seriously cheating.

I've checked the post match results against easy AI - they receive a huge boost in credits at the start of the match, this snowballs to the point that even if your out expanding the AI which in itself is difficult because some of the worlds have full defense fleets that rip apart capitals like no tomorrow, you have a smaller fleet. It seems impossible not to be at the bottom of the fleet size/capital ship score in the early stages. Yes you can catch up in certain circumstances but not always.

This is NOT a learn to play issue this is a "boosting AI to extreme levels at lower difficulties" issue.

Maybe you could keep up if you spammed frigates like now tomorrow and focused sole on rushing the AI but that doesn't suit my play style.

The only games where I have been able to hold of and win against Easy AI is on larger maps with distant spawn points which at least gives you breathing room, unfortunately that also means you tend to be far away from any allies too which is annoying.

If I set the AI to easy/fortify I expect them to be easy and not require rush spam tactics to survive the early game.

I've seen many condescending responses to this problem, i.e Learn to play, learn how to play RTS's.

My RTS experience is not the issue here, I've played Strategy games for nearly over 20 years everything from Red Alert to the rapid adrenaline rush multiplayer games of Starcraft 2.

Regards,

Sentinel-Ghost

**Edit = It also seems that the AI 'Spawns' 3 lvl 3 capital ships within the first 3 or so minutes of a match along with the occasional frigate at the edge of their homeworlds gravity well.

the difficulty is way to high to the point where i cant enjoy the mod and its cool ships and large superweapons, i cant do what i enjoy with this mod a casual chill game of modded sins with friends, we can only play serious with this mod if not to make it unfair for the ai 3 humans vs 1 normal ai gets to easy after 30 min of getting punded with attacks that 3 players and their fleets cant stop 1, during a normal non soge mod game (any other mod) we can beat a easy ai very quickly it issent a challange we usualy play hard ai's where stratergy is more important, the ai in this mod seems to cheat giving itself ships and cash, is the bot that i have in my capitol doing jack shit or what?

thank you for your time
