The First Age of the Sun and Moon is perhaps the most eventful timeline within the works of JRR Tolkien. It is steeped in theological and philosophical themes, while retaining the epic scale that most are accustomed to when they think of Tolkien. Our hope is to recreate, as accurately as possible, the words and ideas of the author into the Total War universe. As there is yet to be any concrete display of what we believe to be the greatest and most thought-provoking age within the world of Arda, here is to you Silmarillion: Total War.
Awesome model from Castellan Taurion, for Sauron in the roster of Tol-in-Gaurhoth
That is an amazing model!!!!
Indeed!
Taurion is awesome
I would have given him a mace or a sword, not sure if the hammer fits well. Otherwise he looks good ^^
I could be wrong, but I believe Castellan's thinking was that because Morgoth had a mace/hammer...Sauron would also have a mace/warhammer thing, in a smaller mode.
Little Sauron following his idol :D

ooooh that is beautiful! love the (im guessing) morgoth inspired hammer
Yes I believe so
Where is his pretty face?
We're not given any description of what Sauron looked like, except in his animal form as a wolf or vampire. So we went with a toned down version of what he chose in the third age. You'll have to ask Taurion about that
Ok. Thanks.
Think Sauron should be without helm and have sword instead of hammer. He looks like Morgoth.
Of course he looks like Morgoth. He was Morgoth's right hand man. Since the only visual description we have of Sauron in battle are either his animals forms, or the armored black one...this seems to fit quite well. It's not unreasonable to think that his third age look was close to his first age look in battle. Also Sauron never used a sword.
Are there any other evil factions planned for this mod (other than the Easterlings)
Tol in Gaurhoth and Angband are purely evil. Easterlings are split between good and evil. In the Silmarillion, the Sons of Feanor did some evil things, as well as the Dwarves of Nogrod.
Are there any plans to include Valinor as a location in the campaign?
(Amazing work with the mod by the way. It truly is amazing to see that a dedicated mod is being developed for the Silmarillion and other works of the First Age)
No, as nothing took place there during the First Age.
