New extended demo version based on the latest build. Tested with GZDoom 4.11.3, compatible with any official Doom iwad and FreeDoom.
Contains:
- 8 maps (Intro,Home,Airfield,Home_2,Plane,The Sinkhole, Orc Mines, Guardhouse)
- 5 weapons and 2 tools (fists, shovel, pistol, bow, scythe, torch and pickaxe)
Ever since I remember playing the first Shadow over the Pathoras a long time ago (and didn't finish it for whatever reason), I thought Shadow over the Pathoras II would never see the light of the day until I didn't expect it get revived recently.
I gave the updated demo a try last night on Hero difficulty and it was an enjoyable experience. The maps and the combat plays well but, is it intentional to not have HUD weapon sprites for the bow? Trying to tell if the bow is ready to shoot is unpredictable. Other than that, I found no issues despite I was a bit annoyed to not being able recognize certain spots to use the pickaxe but it's my fault on my end.
That being said, I hope this sequel comes to fruition as if it gets enough feedback to mark it's future than without it.
Thanks for the feedback ! I wasn´t expecting to return to it either :D. BTW, knowledge of the first part is not necessary. The story mentions all the crushial informations from the first game when needed.
No, the missing bow sprite is a mistake - thanks for letting me know. Before the release I did some manual cleaning to reduce the file size by removing unnecessary sprites and accidentally removed the bow sprites in the process without noticing. I have updated the download with a fixed version.
Well, we shall see where the project will go. It´s either now or never.
