Zündapp also participated in providing the Army with sidecar cycles. The Wehrmacht cycle with the largest displacement was the Zündapp K800, which came from civilian production; some 5,000 of them were delivered to the Wehrmacht by 1938. Equipped with saddlebags and painted in Wehrmacht gray, it was designated the K800 w. It was the only four-cylinder cycle among the Wehrmacht's sidecar motorcycles, and achieved success even before the war in many Wehrmacht off-road competitions. It remained in service to the war's end.
