This mod is a total conversion of the base game of Axis & Allies, intended to transform that game into a reimagination of, and tribute towards, the golden age of clan / war group combat on Roblox in the years of 2010 to 2012, focusing primarily on the mid 2011 to mid 2012 era. Players will be able to play as one of a constantly growing number of well-researched, unique, historical factions from that time period, using a wide variety of authentic units, technologies, and commander abilities. Obviously this is not a simulation, and certain artistic liberties have been taken regarding the form and function of units, weapons, and and combat itself, for both gameplay and balance reasons, and practical modding purposes. The mod's goals are extremely massive in scope and depth. As such, if you or someone you know took part in any of the groups or wars this mod pays tribute to, please do not hesitate to contact me with your input. Researching this subject is more difficult than it once was.

the new terrain textures look nice - albeit they have really heavy color saturation! sometimes it helps to put a duplicate layer underneath and then invert the color and go for 25-50% transparency to decrease the intensity of the appearance of the final colors. although the white gun barrel looks a bit out of place, the actual gun model is pretty cute and fits the tone of the mod nicely. will this be a bombarding artillery gun or will it provide line-of-sight fire support.

although it might not be the most historically accurate idea ... maybe you could give them Welbikes or Flying Flea motorcycles as high-speed motorcycle recon units. they wouldn't be able to damage anything.. but they could give the faction some more options. they could be used to steal cities quickly and to rush out and scout enemy positions.

Sorry for the late response here; suffice to say I have not gotten many comments on this mod before and was not expecting that to change.

The terrain saturation is deliberate and a part of the shifting visual style of the mod, becoming more similar to the new models being used in it. Eventually most doodads and all civilian/random buildings will also have their models replaced and the entire map will have this sort of look. I shall upload further screenshots later to further illustrate these changes.

As for units; these are in fact 'historically accurate' units insofar as ColonelTwixxy's Empire of Japan had these uniforms and weapons available to them in late 2011 early 2012. The cannon itself is capable of bombardment but is presently balanced as a sort of direct fire/anti tank weapon as well, since the faction critically lacks AT weapons in its current, standard roster. Some EOJ subfactions have access to Austratt Panzershreks, but that is otherwise it for infantry AT. Motorcycles on the other hand were not, to my knowledge, used by EOJ in any capacity, though they will be receiving an unarmed SUV vehicle for motorized infantry in their standard roster and a similarly unarmed Kettenkrad in a certain 'what-if' subfaction of theirs based on an unrelated 2013 EOJ.

There is another faction which has not been implemented yet, Vampire Knights, which is planned to have the option of motorcycle troops, with a big spike on the front of the motorcycle doing high melee damage. Otherwise I can't think of any motorcycles being used by any of the groups currently researched.

Thank you for your comment in any case, it means a lot to me to see any sort of interest in the mod, and feedback and questions are the lifeblood of any continuing mod development.

hmm, I suppose I was unclear. the paragraph break was to leave the old idea behind and propose another one.

when I was discussing historical inaccuracies I honestly wasn't even thinking of the artillery unit. I was thinking about the use of airborne motorcyles for the BRD faction.

there certainly isn't any historical records that I'm aware of that the British Red Devils used Welbikes or Flying Flea motorcyles... however, these WERE used by British paratroopers and could be a fun option to add to the BRD faction. hence my words "although it might not be the most historically accurate idea"

it would help make this otherwise pretty weak faction a bit more competitive.

Ah.. haha, I did misunderstand your post, my apologies. Hopefully I did not come across as defensive, but likewise it would be inauthentic of me to provide BRD with such units. It really isn't all rubbish for them though. Red Devils Paras are very competitive against early enemy infantry, particularly in close quarters, and BRD can deploy mortars far behind enemy lines (which can also be used to try to damage tanks in a pinch)

If you still have my mod located anywhere on your computer you might notice a "sourcing" txt file in the /Units folder: many links are stored there evidencing the use of some weapon or vehicle or another. To this end Ive actually already been very generous with BRDs unit roster, including many vehicles that they almost certainly never used in any capacity, but which they had the opportunity to use, at least. The same is actually true for many of the currently implemented smaller factions, like EOJ.

Im always willing to bend 'reality' for fun and balance - and in truth BRD is such a short-lived faction that taking further liberties wouldn't really mean too much - but for now at least I think they're in an alright enough spot. As far as recon gues, their scout squads are also full-sized and fully-effective combat squads, albeit twice the cost of a normal one. Airfields in many cases require much less economy and base building to deploy, and so BRD may also deploy fighters quite comfortably within the first 10 or so minutes of the game.

By the way, many thanks for your further comment, even if just clarification. It really does mean a lot to me, and is excellent motivation for mod work.

Description

A somewhat old screenshot of a 10 AI free for all game, in this case showing some Empire of Japan troops facing off against British Red Devils. Note the new terrain textures; they are still heavily work in progress at this time and especially were at the time this picture was taken.
