Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.
Ever since the first use of neutron weapons in early 2048, the Russo-European War has escalated out of control, with ECA forces throwing themselves into a relentless counter-offensive against the decimated and fatigued forces of the Federation. Both sides took excessive precautions, for the threat of a tactical nuclear strike from one of the warring parties now loomed over every engagement that strayed too far from its initial battle plan. Being prepared for the worst and experienced enough to deal with it, the Russian Army has deployed sizeable contingents of its RBC (Radiation, Chemical and Biological) Protection Troops to the frontline. The Chemical Troops were among the first to reach the sites of the French nuclear bombings to rescue what few survivors there were but they also played a vital role in combat ever since: Their standard weapon is the Shmel incendiary rocket launcher whose thermobaric munitions make short work of infantry in the open as well as in cover. The Troopers can also fire a non-lethal smoke rocket to create an impromptu diversion for their comrades in the field. Their multi-layered protection suits make them more resistant to radiation, toxins, flames and other hazards. Furthermore, Russian commanders should be advised that Shmel rockets will no longer be issued to RPG Conscripts after a series of fatal accidents and excessive expenditures of ordnance on minor targets.
anti GLA,China and eca nerve gas
I guess this means a few Federation units will be more specialized to their role and reinforce the combined arms approach of the Russian faction.
Do you Shmel something General? You had hurry, before your dead! Hehe hahaha!
I laughed way more then I should have at that.
In Russian Federation, chem-suit wears you!

Very good idea creating such an anti-inf unit with garrison-clearing abilities. Good job, guys!
yep... using infantry has become less and less ideal...
Well, maybe with some support... Who knows - the mod really seems rich and balanced. It's good that there's no infantry only general anymore. Good combos always do the trick.
Actually we are currently in the process of making infantry a more valid choice on any battlefield.
With russians having no sniper-like unit, these guys are very well placed. Man, this mod's gettin better and better with every update there!
I love shmel of thermobaric in the morning!
Flamethrowers done right!
By the way, "Shmel" means "Bumblebee" in Russian. Bzz-bzzz
I was wondering for some time on what does it mean. 10x, man!
Time for a little music, don'tyathink?
The Shmel is a Bumble Bee and ze operators also looks like a bumble bee!! Ahahaha
