Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

This will actually replace the old Scorpion model like you did with Crusader? The model is fine, but removing the old one takes a part of Generals itself, from the GLA's scrap-makers feel.

Just look at the skin. It still looks very 'scrappy'.

Yes, but more like they found a debris of Centurion and repaired it with the scrapped metal and rivets, not something what they made in the garage and dont represents any known tank.

You should be happy to know that the old Scorpion is still being used for another general. No worries - and it will receive it's own love too.

the scorpion tank was based on the russian pre-ww2 T-26 light tank, so your not completely correct. But i see your point.

Actually it's based off the British Ferret.

I always thought that to some extent that the Scorpion reminded me of the old Stuart tank which always struck me as ridiculous considering that the Stuart was pathetic even by WWII standards while Centurion on the other hand proved itself time and time again with the Israeli Sho't variant turning the Golan Hights into a tank graveyard (though the training discrepancy between the Israelis and Arabs along with the rigid Soviet style military doctrine probably didn't help the Arabs very much either). Of course even in this day and age the Centurion would be totally obsolete and design would be over 100 years old by the mid 21st century.

Makes way more sense to see Centurions on the hands of the presumably arab GLA than old German tanks.

Given how several Centurion models were sold to the Saudis and other Arab nations by the UK after they adopted the Challenger I.

What is next ? The Marauder tank being a junkyard rigged old M48 or M60 Patton ? (Also a common as **** tank in Arab nations specially in Egypt and Saudi Arabia)

Though not entirely impossible (referring to your German tanks comment) as various nations sold Syria some old panzer IVs in the 60s and they saw service during the water war and the 6 day war of '67.

The tank the Scorpion is based on is actually Czech (but was produced by Nazi Germany alright).

Holy crap! That's awesome! Nice to see the GLA being modernized, although I liked how they had an arsenal of heavily modified WW2/Cold War relics in Shockwave. Would it hurt if you put in the Maus? :P

Probably, considering that a 1000 tonnes tank is simply not feasible. Bigger is better doesn't always work, and even the superheavies of China and Russia are damned slow, so how would the GLA in the more serious ROTR create an engine that could drive it?

Actually a 1000 ton tank is feasible as long as it does not try to cross and bridges.

The Ratte was the 1000 tonnes tank (never built)
And the Maus couldn't cross bridges, it had to go underwater with a snorkel to allow air to the engine.

I thought it did not make any sense for the Maus to be in, the Germans did not even complete the damn tank.

Description

The new Scorpion is based on a heavily modified Centurion tank and it has proven to be superior to its predecessor in every way. A wolf pack of these tanks are a sight to behold.
