Oh man if this is the texture quality not being good, I can't wait to see what it looks like on your desktop. Nice to see the TIE/rc, a neglected TIE that now has a use in EaW!

Both these and the NR fighters you posted are just amazing. When this gets released I'll just be staring at the fighters the whole time during the battles.

Basically, the laptop mipps the texture maps (simple terms: reduces resolution and makes them "fuzzy" at angles). This can cause detail to be lost or for the details that are seen to simply appear blurry, rather than crisp. Pics of each fighter individually, taken from the desktop, can be seen in earlier uploads if you wish to scroll back for them.

As for your comments, thank you :)

I can see that now looking at them in comparison with the previous screenshots. Either way these are beautiful :)

Forgot to mention from before, but I quite like the icons that you've made for the new abilities. They look natural with the vanilla icons.

Thanks! Yes, it took a bit of conceptualizing to design icons that felt like they belonged. Glad they do :)

They are seeming to be popular :) I'm glad it was a good decision to make them! Thank you.

Killing it with these descriptions Farseer. One thing I love about being in this mod community is reading similar but unique unit descriptions. While I've read about these units a million and one times just reading their lore, especially EU lore, just makes me moist. So moist.

I also can't wait till I'm done with college work to continue helping YVAW.

...This is poor quality? I clearly am too used to playing this game on a laptop.

This is highest my laptop can go...and it lags even in map editor. Lol. Could NEVER actually play on these settings.

Someone has higher standards than I do, it would seem.

Question: What incentive to people have to build the Phantom? A cloaking generator isn't useful in a direct fight, so the advantage of the Phantom is lost in battle.

Oh my...not true at all. A cloaked Phantom still provides LoS, which in turn means its providing area for your ships to spawn. Their main purpose is for scouting out and establishing spawn points behind enemy lines, perhaps even right next to their starbase. This is particularly useful when playing with three teams as you can spring a base-killing attack on one enemy while they are combating the other.

If playing with two teams, it allows you to fly a ship behind their fleet and execute a pincer strategy by spawning part of your fleet at their rear. See, ships in EaW behave similar to actual ships and they must turn to face or to broadside an enemy. Unless they have a 360 degree turret (which most don't), attacking from behind gives you an advantage.

It's also a great way to get a human player to send bombers on a "lonely" capital ship, only to have them intercepted by a swarm of fighters that they had no idea were there.

Conversely, while an AI player might not be lured in that same manner, it (at the very least) prevents them from attacking the escort fighters so that YOU can choose when they enter the battle. In puts the combat on your terms...not the aggressors.

I completely agree with your points, it would definitly be useful in those ways. I have however, found EaW maps to be far too small to ever (effectively anyway) use the strategies you've mentioned, and that, sadly, moves such as pincers are not useful like they would be in a total war game because the bloody maps just don't facilitate enough unit spreading oppertunity to require such actual tactics.

If you greatly expand the map size like I did in my mods however this could be overcome. In that case ignore my first comment, I was assuming you were going by the vanilla maps.

Oh I do indeed plan to expand the maps. Vanilla maps will still be included for those that like them but I have some custom ones in the works too that are quite large. Not total war large...but certainly bigger than the default.

Freaking awesome! But not seeing the TIE/ad Avenger makes me kinda sad :(

If you check the Wiki, there aren't many instances of were the Imperial Remnant may have used the Avenger and in fact, it's affiliation is listed as: Empire, Imperial Remnant(rumored). Given that it was already a rare TIE design and that its use by the Remnant was only rumored, I thought it would just be frivolous to add it. But that's just my personal opinion. I thank you for the comment :)

Once again, please excuse the texture quality... My poor laptop is nearly 10 years old. I should have full desktop access again soon.
