The Empire has fallen and a New Republic is born out of the conflict. But in the ashes of civil war, yet another life stirs...
Not to be confused with the much larger and less exclusive Ton-Falk-class ship of the same name, the Commando-class ship was manufactured for and fielded exclusively by the Storm Commando Corp. Slightly larger than most corvette-sized ships, this sturdy craft is armed well for it's size and can easily defend against fighters and blockade runners or other ships of similar size. It's central hangar bay spans the narrow width of the ship and houses a single compliment of TIE Hunters, which are deployed in squadrons of three fighters each.
The Storm Commandos were a division of the Scout Trooper branch of the greater Storm Trooper Corp. They wore distinctive black Scout armor and were trained for special operations or for terror missions, in which the Empire hoped to "send a message" in ways that normal Storm Troopers could not do adequately. The often covert nature of these assignments necessitated the small fighter compliment and stealthy profile of the carrier ship itself.
Although the Storm Commando Corp was rarely seen in front-line combat, the shortage of troops in the Imperial Remnant has pushed the Corp into areas of service not otherwise seen, prior to the Battle of Endor. Their black ships and armor are a more common sight on the battlefield currently, as Commandos now take on the role of field and fleet officers in addition to special operations agents, when no other officer is present.
