No description was given but I believe the idea follows the same logic as the E-Wing. The astromech is therefore placed inside the hull of the starship, rather than in a socket on the exterior. I put an access hatch just behind the cockpit for this reason...as that's what made sense in my own head-canon.

Aren't these Adamkop designs?

They look like his style. I recall he provides descriptions to his work.

Unsure. The og art was supplied by the comissioner, so i never saw descriptions.

I think I found the art it was based on which is this: Deviantart.com with which that one was based on this: Deviantart.com

It's unique in that it incorporates the T-70 wings but the fuselage and jet intake look roughly the same. I can't say what the commissioner himself intended but the original artist intended his design to have no astromech whatsoever in the same vein "advanced" Rebel fighters like the A-wing and B-wing did not have an astromech.

Unconsequential and irrelevant really but I thought it's a cool [hypothetical] background to the request.

Description

Commission based on fan art for a T80 X-Wing. This design falls into the Legends continuity and was designed before the T80 which appears in Canon.

The RotM map in the background is a low orbit setting above Rattatak.
