this huge paragraph is about how a railgun this size would be impractical on the maps we have due to how small they are, and why it should be an anti starship(im just gonna call the large flying experimentals starships) weapon, like pancake said it looks like.
isnt a giant railgun a little impractical for artillery? i agree with pancakes, it looks more like an anti-starship cannon. a railgun would b e nice for artillery but unless the maps get substantially bigger, its impractical.
the military irl is planning on mounting a railgun on a destroyer and using it for artillery, it is planned to have a range of 100 miles. its projectile is planned to exit and renter the atmosphere, much like most of the xp artillery in supcom games. the mavor does for sure, the scanthis, the salvation, ect. the mavor is for sure not a railgun. and its range is practically unlimited. consider the biggest maps in supcom, betrayal ocean. i did the calculations a while back and it was somewhere around 50 miles from one corner to the other. the mavor if i remember correctly can hit anywhere on the map. and it isnt a railgun. so we know it has a range of at least 50 miles. even the biggest supcom 2 map is at least two times smaller than betrayal ocean. if this ship mounted railgun has a range of 100 miles, and this mavor's railgun is AT LEAST 20 times the length of the railgun on the ship, this mavor would probably be able to hit things on the moon. yes i said the moon. the earths atmosphere ends at about ten miles up, so it wouldnt be very hard to get it to the moon.
im a little bored of artillery, especially game ending artillery. it makes a game hard to balance. there arent many big guns that point forward, most big guns are pointed up for use as artillery. it woudl be nice to have some giant sniper weapons barrel casting its shadow over the base its sitting in. god idk how many times ive gone to post this and come back and find it gone.
That is so beautiful
Railgun I assume?
Img.photobucket.com <- This will look even better with this mod
You know, that being a railgun, it looks more like an anti-starship cannon.
Whoaaaahhh.... nice. Does this version of the Mavor contain different shots or a much better model than before?
This thing has all sorts of surprises :)
What tha fakk is that ?! Shields and Bases, HERE I COME!!
Reminds me of the canon in "Titanfall", in one of the missions.. :P
It was probably a railgun also.
this is going to be good
Yes and again YES!

This is so majestic!!!
One question, is this a Game-Ender unit like it was in the first SC or just a high damage artillery?
high damage...
Can be made into a weapon for end game with upgrades.
