Return of Shadow Beta 0.298 News
A new beta is in the works version 0.298.

Beta 0.3 production continues on but there's still business at hand.
Due to some issues with the latest versions I'll be releasing a new Beta soon which roll the last 2 hotfixes into one release along with various other fixes like missing models and other issues.
As well as a little surprise.
Surprise
A completely new surprise faction to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Lone Wolf.
This faction will be a permanent addition going forward making it the 10th faction.
This faction was actually conceived years ago when working on Lone Wolf but the faction never got completed but the ideas stuck with me so when I realised that the 10th year was coming up I thought it'd be a nice surprise for the occasion and in the space of a few weeks I worked long hours getting the faction ready alongside the faction reviews, balancing and working on Beta 0.3.
I hope you guys will enjoy it.
The faction will be available for Riddle masters until 0.298 is released so you can still get early access to this faction.
Free Peoples
The Free Peoples faction is a hybrid faction combining the elements of the Shire, Breeland, Forochel as well as Ents and Eagles.Your heroes are Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin as well as Gwaihir and Treebeard through Faction Upgrades and the faction is led by Gandalf the Grey.
Gandalf has a new spell that allows him to summon fireworks in dazzling colours.
Free People's spell book is loaded with fun summons like summoning the Dunedain Rangers, Eagles or random units representing the 3 races Men, Elves and Dwarves (that spell also has a chance of summoning the new Ered Luin Defenders).
Finally they can summon the members of the Fellowship Boromir, Legolas, Gimli and Aragorn for a time.
Hobbits are good for a quick defence but unlike regular units they don't get Defensive and Offensive upgrades instead they rely on the power of alcohol.
The new Ale system from the Inn you can choose between 3 different beverages Green Dragon Ale, Prancing Pony Draught and Bridge Inn Cider each grants a different buff for up to one minute for nearby Hobbits.
So to effectively use Hobbits you'll need to keep them close to home.
Breeland offers 2 new units the Bree Town Watch a ranged unit and the Bree Town Sentry an infantry unit basic upgrades can also be purchased from the Town Hall.
Forochel frozen home to the mysterious men of Lossoth they are skilled warriors when the need arises using the elements to their advantage with Frozen Blades and Frost Arrows that will slow any enemies unfortunate enough to be hit by them.
Ents can be built from the Ent Moot found at the Outpost and once the Eyries Faction Upgrade has been purchased you'll be able to train Lesser Eagles a smaller version of the Eagle and the only aerial unit that isn't a summon in the game as well as recruiting Gwaihir.

Beta 0.3
Work is still undergoing on Beta 0.3 with a rough release date in mind and the new factions progressing nicely.I'm working on some new balance features for Beta 0.3 and also doing some work on the other factions as I go.
I'm setting up Beta 0.3 to be a major release and will have a lot of the groundwork for the remaining factions to be released faster.

Almost as impressive as the fact that people can still play this game because they haven't lost their disc.
Seriously I loved this game, but there's just no way of playing it now...

You might want to fix that.
Actually there a various ways to still play this game, you could torrent it (since the game is no longer sold it's abandon ware) or the online edition.

It is really amazaing job what you do.. I really dont mind anything about the game.. Even if it crashes, I don't mind.. It isn't that often..
The only thing that quiet ****** me of is that, that some units ( f.e. haradrim, rohan archers, some dunland ) and some heroes are really hard to target with mouse.. I mind because if I want to use a spell on them ( on enemies ) I can't usually properly click them.. So if you worked this out, that would make me really happy.. :)
