A fan for Real life Military equipment ? then this is your mod ! it is a Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge mod that basically imports a lot of RL military hardware from the cold war era in the 60's to the late 2000's while maintaining a lot RA2 aspects like prism, tesla tech and etc. Also, It expands on the original RA2 armor system thanks to ARES in which it creates more roles to create numerous units effectively expanding the complexity of handling an army making it necessary to use mixed arms to counter the various unit types. Also, do note that each country will have some twists in their military equipment that will be more or less similar to their respective RL counterparts. In short: it is a relative to reality fun mod but "a fun mod" is conservative statement.
A well known vehicle through out WWII. The sd.Kfz.161 'Panzer IV' medium battle tank is built from scratch to receive the necessary armor upgrade for a contemporary battlefield but it retained its old 75mm cannon.
The tank acts as a light tank although armored as a medium tank, it also acts as the Panther's sidekick. If the crew prove their competence they can receive firepower upgrades that is in the from of a higher caliber round of which 100mm cannon to at least counter other MBT threats. Though commanders should be carful how they want to employ the panzer iv since it is generally armed as a light tank at the start.
Also, the panzer can receive armor skirt and an MG upgrade to increase its survivability in the battlefield. Lastly, there is a rumor going on that there are far more deadly variants of this tank, but this is yet to be confirmed.
