A fan for Real life Military equipment ? then this is your mod ! it is a Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge mod that basically imports a lot of RL military hardware from the cold war era in the 60's to the late 2000's while maintaining a lot RA2 aspects like prism, tesla tech and etc. Also, It expands on the original RA2 armor system thanks to ARES in which it creates more roles to create numerous units effectively expanding the complexity of handling an army making it necessary to use mixed arms to counter the various unit types. Also, do note that each country will have some twists in their military equipment that will be more or less similar to their respective RL counterparts. In short: it is a relative to reality fun mod but "a fun mod" is conservative statement.
Allied and Soviet navies will follow a similar path to RA1 albeit a modified one. Allies will place more emphasis on its non-submerged naval vessels. On the other hand, the Soviet will lean more the submarines to complement its standard naval vessels.
The Allies will mostly have 1-2 type of submarines and the Soviets will have at least 3-4. Both will be able to build shipyards and sub pens to build the relevant units.
The typhoon class is tactical ballistic missiles class submarine. It serves as an underwater cruiser with nuke missiles. It also like its other kin of submarines has 2 attack modes. The first is that it uses its torpedo tubes for general attacking purposes, it normally shots a salvo of 4 torpedoes to quickly dispatch any vessel.
The second weapon of the first mode is R-39 'rif' SLBM (submarine lunched ballistic missile), the rif is modified to be used tactically by field commanders, its long range renders the submarine a moving mini-super weapon.
If the typhoon switches to its second mode, it can use RPK-2 Vyuga. A modified nuclear anti-submarine missile to be used against other naval vessels or land targets like structures and vehicles. In this mode the submarine will stay emerged to fire its weapon.
The SLBM will make the game much more fun, because it became boring to only use super weapons only for far ranges, having this submarine protected by other navy units like kilo-class will make it so harmful
