I think GBs are not realy useful for BBaloons and Zhukovs. I may be noob at paradox, but for what reason do you need to move with them together, as you use kirovs GBs to charge for short distances towards/away only? To catch up with them if got threathned by AAAircraft? I would use Migs. I understand it was planned to use BB, K&Z together to suport eachother?

If the BB goes at a speed slower than that of a Kirov then I would say that the GBs are useful

I'm not sure if you are questioning the usefulness of the BB's secondary toggling off speed with no benefit other than micro convenience, questioning why one would use BB's with Kirovs, or both.

If the first, I agree that it is bland, but I'm not sure if that is necessarily a bad thing: not sure what it would have as an ability instead. (Perhaps a slow-ish armored transport?)

If the second, the Barrage Balloon can soak up more damage and deal out more AA damage, but it lacks the speed of the MiG.
