R.E.A.R.M. - "Rearmament Expansion And Redesign Mod" is an unofficial Homeworld 2 expansion and it adds number of new interesting and various units.
I guarantee it will most likely crash eventually, so don't forget to save often, but I also guarantee that before the crash you'll definitelly witness some epic battle. Battlecruisers are in formation of two, Destroyers of four, Frigates of eight and let's say you'll see hundreds of Corvettes and Fighters flying and dying even with lower unit caps.
That's a newly released game mode called High Command.
Also I've decided not to touch the pictures in Photoshop this time, except for adding the logo.
Holy crap, Gimme that!
Fireworks! Yay!
It's says something were I have to think "photoshop? who the hell needs that?!"
God, I love this game. It's at least 5 years old, and it still looks gorgeous. *sigh*
make that 8 years.
Perfectionist...
Though I'm one to talk.
well thank the hw2 modders they have really kept the game alive and fresh. when u get bored of the vanilla factions you can go onto this site get a mod like rearm or another and spend hours learning about the new units and the enemy's strengths and weaknesses and not to mention the new looks to admire.
i love playing high command since you can have much more massive battles than normal.
plus the cpu can easily get the better of you.
What if you added in a separate gametype that gives you a set amount of ships (equal to that of the opposing team) and no build capable ships whatsoever? Add in a bit more strategy to Real Time Strategy, and if you've ever played Ground Control you should know the feeling.
Someday I think I will, that was one of the long forgotten plans.
But even now you can actually try it, not with High Command though. Select a Battle Fleet starting fleet and turn off resourcing (by setting resource multiplier to 0)
But that's just about one big battle that is over fast. You won't earn any points for capturing land like in Ground Control (no I haven't played it, I just wanted to try).
Well obviously you'd need some RUs to do ship subsystems. I never played ground control too much but it was a fun game.
About RU, you can set high initial RU value or RU injections.
They need to make a HomeWorld 3
