Reaction Quake 3 (or simply known as "Reaction") is essentially a direct-as-possible port of Action Quake 2 (AQ2) to Quake 3: Arena. If you don't know what AQ2 is, heh, have you been living under a rock? Seriously AQ2 was the most popular mod for Q2 and was really the grandfather of all realism mods. It brought fast paced gameplay with realistic weapons and damage.
From the AQ2 page, "The idea is that each bullet counts for a lot, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't pump them full of as many bullets as you can spare; they'll get a chance to shoot back before they die if you don't finish them off. Cover actually means something, it's better to make sure there's a pillar or a desk near by to duck behind, especially if you have to reload or bandage yourself."
Combine that with the ability to strafe, ramp, ladder, and double jump and you've got yourself one hell of a good time.
Reaction brings all that to the Quake 3 engine giving Action better graphics and enhanced gametypes like Teamplay, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Briefcase.
Come give us a try.

Oh hey we totally released a game. Total truth! Would we prank you?!?
I mean, come on, really. It's not like in the past we've messed around with our fans in any way whatsoever.
It's not like we would promise something for a decade, that's TEN YEARS, and then just release the windows package, 64-bit linux package, 32-bit linux package, and source code on April Fools Day, right?
What're the odds that we'd want you to please check our buglist and comment to say if any are still valid bugs or even to add new bugs that you discover in the Bugzilla under the "beta 1" version so we could keep track of this stuff?
It's been so long that we've strung you along that this HAS to be yet another prank, right? We wouldn't want you to report your fps and video cards in the comments section or forums to make sure performance is ok with all the eyecandy turned on, that'd be just plain crazy!
We sure as hell wouldn't want you to enjoy yourselves with a beta 1 release and promise to include more maps in a beta 2 release as we get them revamped for the new renderer. And imply that a Mac version was also on the way. No, that'd just be a total April Fools joke. Totally!
the new version is standalone v1 around 100 mb :/ thay should update more often so ,its not dead ,just check there official page :)
