"Tartan Frigate reporting." - Tartan Frigate Captain

Great Tartan model, I may phase out the old Consular Frigates with these babies when the Empire is established.

Thanks, I'm happy with how it came out. The_Farseer certainty designed a nice looking ship.

Nope, frigate. Like I said, it's 250 meters, so I re-classified it.

Correct; the classification levels went like this;

-Corvettes: Ships of roughly 100 - 200 meters length
-Frigates: Ships of roughly 200 - 400 meters length
-Cruisers: Ships of roughly 400 - 600 meters length
-Heavy Cruisers: Ships of roughly 600 - 1000 meters length
-Star Destroyers: Ships of roughly 1000 - 2000 meters length
Battlecruisers: Ships of roughly 2000 - 5000 meters length
Dreadnaughts: All ships over 5000 meters length

Source: Anaxes War College

SHIP CLASS ABBREVIATION SYSTEM (Based on US Navy Abbreviation System):

LCV: Light Combat Vessel, used on Corvettes, Frigates and Cruisers
AS: Assault Ship, used for Heavy Cruisers as well as the Acclamator class.
SD: Star Destroyer, obviously.
BC: Used for Battlecruisers.
SSD: Refers to Dreadnoughts such as the Eclipse-class Dreadnought, the Executor-Class Dreadnought and it's Terror-subclass variant which featured a cloaking device.

---

Therefore the Tartan is classified as a frigate. Furthermore, it is also an LCV according to the abbreviation system.

I know, but yeah, that's the Anaxes War College for ya. That system the Anaxes War College uses does have some flaws so... But it is a source for ship classification since the darn thing was in Legends, which of course used to be the old canon. I may either expand or revamp that whole system to suit Republic Assault more effectively, but uh, that would have to be up to Sgt Barlex.

Description

So I decided to rehaul the Clone Commandos. The last ones were great, but I wasn't a huge fan of their textures. Thankfully, it's possible to export the Commandos with rigging from RC.

First off, I've got four squads ready to go for 0.9. As is fairly obvious from their markings, it's Delta, Omega, Aiwha, and Blue squad, with several more on the way.

Next, I've got some new ships for space combat. The Broadside is an experimental, and expensive ship, but also very powerful with it's missile tubes. The Tartan has been reclassified as a light frigate (It's 250 meters), with a variety of lasers to deal with fighters, and corvettes (Of certain types) but will get creamed in a frigate v frigate slugging fight.

The Corellian Destroyer is part of something bigger that I'm thinking of trying. Currently, most planets can build any starship no matter what. But my new plan would remove all GAR starship production from every planet, except Coruscant, and Kuat. In place of the missing ships, you'd be able to build local starships (IE: Mon Calamari-MC55, Corellia-CR-90, Corellian Destroyer, and so on). With the option to build a specialized ship yard above a planet.

A light shipyard would build corvettes, and low grade frigates. A medium shipyard would build medium and heavy frigates. And a large shipyard would build capital ships. Each shipyard would have a build cap on how many can be built at a time.
