I would have thought that the Captain would have been blue... I mean Captain Rex is blue after all, although I know that blue is also the color of the 501st so maybe that is just unique to Rex or something idk...?

This color scheme was used in the early Clone Wars (pre-TCW). At some point, the introduction of unit color designations made the color-by-rank obsolete/was abandoned.

Rex is blue because the 501st's main color is blue. Similar to the 212th being orange, 65th being red, and so on.

Like Sly said, these are based off the EP2 clones. Minus the major, and two possible additions.

It's certainly aesthetically pleasing, although I prefer the idea of sticking to colour patterns on Phase II Armour representing unit affiliation instead of rank.

The abilities for individual officers is definitely something you should keep; I would, however, propose that the enhanced grenade toss for the Clone Commander is shifted to an officer further down the chain of command, and that you instead give the Commander a Prowler 1000 Exploration Droid. In the first part of the Republic Commando campaign we see these being used to observe troop movement on Geonosis.

How I envision this working in EaW:FoC, is simply having it spawn in a similar manner to how Silri spawns her Rancor in the base game. Ability wise the droid itself would function in a similar manner to the spotter unit that accompanied the Rebel MPTL-2a in the base game.

Loving the progress this mod is making; keep it coming.

Legions do have officers marked by their unit design, but I still needed generic officers for generic companies. So a sergeant would lead a squad, lieutenant leads a platoon, and so on. While I'm trying to stick to lore, I'm doing some stuff of my personal preferences, and general realism.

As for the Prowler 1000 idea, I actually quite like that. I was quite strapped for ideas because I had no feasible ideas, I didn't like the ability to call free units, and air strike should be rare. Not on a build you can spam (field team).

In the rivalling game, storm troopers stood to attention when someone of rank was near by like Vader, will the clones have this same feature when in the presence of say Yoda etc?

Its an animation controlled by proximity to certain units when idle, so ii added it should only be for notable heroes.

Corporal - White
Sargent - Green
Second Lieutenant - Blue
First lieutenant -Blue
Captain - Red
Major - Red
Lieutenant Colonel (Commander) - Yellow
Colonel - Yellow

No clone could achieve that rank. The highest rank a clone could ever reach would be Clone Marshal Commander. That's the rank Cody and Gree were.

not gonna lie, having their rank indicated like the phase 1 units in the early clone wars is VERY appealing. be great for generic squads of phase 2 troops. the only one im not a fan of is the major, as you never really see clone majors much and the purple just *pops more than the other colors.

Description

Finally getting back to work on Republic Assault, I'm here to present something that's far overdue.

During combat, your soldiers are nothing without others to help control the logistics of the warzone, or keep control of the men. This is where the command structure comes into play. In Republic Assault there are currently 5 Clone Trooper ranks, with 2 possible additions. The current ones are:

•Sergeant - Olive green armor | No special abilities
•Lieutenant - Blue armor | No special abilities
•Captain - Red armor | Enhance company type FoV
•Major - Purple armor | Grenade toss | Company type defense boost
•Commander - Yellow armor | Enhanced grenade toss | Company type health boost

*By company type, I mean the individual unit builds. So a captain in, say a IFT-X company, will boost all the units in that company type's FoV.*

While the ones in question are
•Corporal - White/more carbon scored armor, or grey mark armor | No special abilities | Lowest rank possible, below sergeant
•Colonel - Orange armor | Air strike | Company all stats up | Highest possible rank, above commander

All these ideas are a WIP, suggestions are welcome.
