Fact and Questions

1. "What is the release date?/When is the next Indev version?"

  • As it stands right now, we have no idea about the release date. This has gone from a small mod that adds a few things like Thrawn's Revenge FotR, to a full conversion mod like RaW. Which will further the release date, but also increase quality.
  • We also have lives, we have family, and we play other games. We aren't robots that just mod 24/7.

2. "Can you can X, Y, and/or Z?"

  • We're always open to new ideas, but just because you recommend it doesn't mean we'll add it. With this article, comes the unit list. Which can be changed but for the most part it will stay the same. If you'd like to recommend something, PM me your ideas.

3. "Can I be a tester?"

  • Not sure if you live under a rock, but please go check out the downloads tab. It has indev versions.

4. "Will indev versions end?"

  • Not likely. They'll get more spaced out as I take on more harder, and larger projects. But the community feedback is great.

5. "What are your plans for Jedi?"

  • Jedi will be added, but the main focus is on clone legions.

6. "Other than the CIS, and Republic do you have plans for other factions?"

  • Certain systems will provide special builds. Umbara will have the Umbaran Millitia, Transosha will have Trandoshan merc, and so on.
  • There will likely be minor factions around the map, like the Death Watch, Shadow Syndicate, and so on.
  • You will have the ability to transform the Republic into the Empire. This will however lock Republic units, and removes some heroes, but also unlock Imperial tech and heroes.

7. "What units do you plan to have?"

8. "Will units be individual or in squads?"

  • Clones will be individual
  • Commando droids, Droidekas, and B3 Ultra Battle Droids will be individual
  • B1 and B2 droids will be in small squads

9. "Bigger unit cap?"

  • Yes, it will be bigger.

10. "What planets will you add, and how big will GC be?"

11. "What can I do to help?"

  • We're always looking for new help, specifically...
    • Lua scripters
    • Map makers
    • Model and texture artists
  • If you can do any of the above, please PM me.

12. "My mod doesn't work correctly what do I do?"

  • Did you follow the guide?
  • Is it something to do with text or icons?
    • If so, be patient. I'm working on that for 0.9

13. "My question wasn't answered, what now?"

  • Either we have no answer, we won't answer, or I overlooked something. Send me a PM if you have further questions.

14. "What is the best way to reach you?"

  • PM me
  • Seriously, I'm more likely to see a notification in my e-mail inbox, or flag at the top of the ModDB pages. As apposed to you leaving a comment on my profile, or somewhere on the page besides the front

15. "How do I play the mod?"

  • Sometimes I might forget to add a mod launcher to the pack
  • I personally like this: Moddb.com
  • It only works for PC though

16. "Can I sometimes be a stubborn ass?"

  • Probably
  • Just read the information, and we should be good

Installation Guide

If you're reading this, I assume you need to know how to install your mod. Well, read on.

Way of the CD

Lets use Indev 0.6 "To Victory" for example. Once you download it, and open the .zip file. You'll have three things in it, a folder, a .exe, and a .txt.

Capture 3

Place the files named ModLauncher wherever you commonly go. Your desktop for example. Now take the folder named Indev_0.6 and place it in your mods folder. DO NOT rename this folder. If you do, do so at your own risk. I will not provide assistance if you mess anything up with it.

That warning aside, drag "Indev_06" into your Star Wars FOC mod folder like so,

Capture 4

Once that is done, boot up the ModLauncher and launch Indev_0.6, or whatever it is that's most recent. And now, congratulations, you've installed Republic Assault for the CD.

The Power Of Steam

I hate to piggyback off others, but I use CD and have no idea what to do for Steam. Here's the link to the following so everyone knows I didn't write this. Moddb.com

In principal, installing for an eaw steam version is essentially the same thing as the retail version. Only difference is that both the EaW base game, and its expansion are contained within the Star Wars Empire at War folder. Within that folder, there is the 'corruption' folder. This is the FOC directory, and where FOC mods go. With that knowledge, simply repeat the steps as you would installing any other mod. The launching method, however, is where steam differs from retail.
Instead of making a .bat file, simply right click the game in your steam library. Go to Properties. Under the general tab, click SET LAUNCH OPTIONS. Type in one of the following depending on which game your mod is for.
sweaw MODPATH=Mods\(MOD FOLDERNAME)
swfoc MODPATH=Mods\(MOD FOLDERNAME)
After that, simply pick whether to launch eaw or foc, and your mod should launch.
