Raising the Bar is a mod based off of the idea of amalgamating the earliest concepts of Half-Life 2 into a coherent story. This mod is not a leak-fix, nor is it a concept art recreation gallery; it will be a full story with inspiration from the old material as well as our own ideas of how to make it all fit together.
Will you just avoid the tanks like in HL1, or do we get to fight them?
You could fight 2 tanks in half-life 1, both in surface tension with the open water tunnels and garage.
These tanks are actually used by the conscripts, not the combine, so they are friendlies. :)

I guess the Combine gets air support, choppers, gunships. Some unidentified flying vehicles dropping tripods, mentioned in the Weather control script. As I recall, the latter ones bombarded the Bradleys in the Arctic canyon rather easy.
P.S. The model is great looking. Hope there will be pretty dynamics as well; can it be destructible? Like, armor being blown off by enemy fire, explosive gibbing and such.

Well I figured the conscripts were enemies at first, scince they worked for the combine. And it never made sense to me that the lowest rank of the combine should get tanks, but that was a cut concept. Love the models BTW.
Yeah, the leak Combine weren't too bright when you think about it. They made the mistake of supplying heavy munitions to their lowest ranks without brainwashing them into thinking the Combine are what's best for humanity. One could easily see Captain Vance chillin' in his command center for a few weeks after becoming the conscript leader and saying, "Wait a minute, why the hell are we working for these guys?!"
