Announcing a new public release of Rainbow Six: Black Ops 2.0. The ultimate Rainbow Six experience awaits you!

Posted by on

I'm glad to announce a new release of Rainbow Six: Black Ops 2.0. First released in September 2021, the mod has received numerous upgrades and bug fixes since then, now culminating in this latest version.
The Rogue Spear community soon felt revived, and the mod got expanded even more on the multiplayer side of things whilst bug fixing and adding content.

Here below you'll find a comprehensive list of improvements and additions since the last 9/29/21 update:

  • Recompiled installer with x86 compression, now 32bit systems should be able to execute the installer.
  • Added "Ladder Uniforms" mod, which adds Blue versus Gold multiplayer uniforms based on the ones from Take Down.
  • Added "Take Down Training" mod, which replaces default Training maps of Rogue Spear with those of Take Down.
  • Added missing Take Down training maps to multiplayer (Adversarial) modes.
  • Added "RSMP03 Killhouse 2 Story" map to Adversarial with Terrorists and to Custom Mission (Terrorist Hunt and Lone Wolf).
  • Added two exclusive armpatches coming from Take Down, featuring the Korean Rainbow logo.
  • Added missing briefing audio and text from Anne Lang on Operation Winter Hawk.
  • Added Light, Medium and Heavy variants of the Hazmat suit, as needed in multiplayer.
  • Fixed some NPCs of Rogue Spear that were using the same textures of other NPCs from Take Down.
  • Fixed EW03 custom mission appearing in Assault instead of Hostage Rescue.
  • Fixed numerous Insertion Point text strings for many multiplayer maps, standardized names and fixed typos.
  • Fixed wrong Adversarial data on few multiplayer maps.
  • Fixed multiplayer .mis files for the CL12 map, wrongly referencing the CL04 directory.
  • Fixed mistake with victory conditions on Operation Winter Hawk.
  • Reworked light uniform textures and UI for Black, Blue, Grey and Stripe; added missing knee pads.
  • Reworked hi-res reticules data and few reticule textures.
  • Replaced M14 texture; by default it uses Urban Ops' wood stock skin, Rogue Spear's white one is an activable mod.
  • Other small improvements to text strings, character textures and UI textures.

Available Mods

Killhouse 2 Story for SP

Take Down Training Missions

TD Training Maps to MP

Restored Missing Briefing

Ladder Uniforms for MP

Ladder Uniforms In-game

Last but not least, check out videos of multiplayer gameplay as recorded by fellow 7ony aka InsaneRevolt. He's organizing weekly events through Discord, and so far we're gaining a good influx of die-hard fans of the Rogue Spear series.

If you have a previous version of the mod, you must remove it completely via uninstaller before installing this new one. Clean installation is mandatory.

Have fun and... how does John put it? "Watch your six."

It really does bring me joy to see this old game playable now. Before you released this I could only get Rogue Spear to run on an XP laptop.

Congrats on the new release! The changelist looks very good, the added "Take Down Training" mod is a real nice addition to the game.

MP works fine in its entirety. I recall few videos last year of someone playing Coop against the AI on Black Ops.

Eheh, nice update with cool content!
I'll watch those MP videos, I hope I'll find instructions to make it work (I don't use Discord).
Thanks a lot, watch your six! ;)

Thanks to you! We organize MP events each Sunday. Discord is a requirement, otherwise you have no details on when and how to join the in-game lobby (port number and IP). If you plan on hosting, it's a different matter, sadly I never tried it myself so I cannot help with it.

Ok, I understand. I think MP no more works like the old days (RIP MSN Gaming Zone).

Does someone have a list of ports to open for hosting?
I saw TCP: 2346 & UDP: 2346, is it correct?
Do I need to set the server to LAN plus use a software like Hamashi or is there still a master server we can use?

I'll try having a look over the week-end. 👍

You can use 2346 as ports. There's no master server, people can play through LAN or do a Manual Join in the menu with a given host address and port number, as long as your server is active.

Hi Menrva, you're awesome! This is awesome! (can you tell I'm delighted to see RS back and playable). Played this back in the day and well... even got the original pal back ready to play :)
Just one teeny thing... any idea how to make an active server? Is it just create game and wait for the other person to join? We can't see to make it work. Host address presumably your ip and standard 2346 as port?
Thanks for any help!
(old farts waiting to play) xxx

Menrva, thank you so much for making this! Even if I spent an hour installing and tinkering with the games myself, wouldn't be as good as this with your mods and stuff. Appreciate you! :)
