A mod for Yuri's Revenge that reverses the roles of every original Red Alert 2 mission to play as the other side. In some cases, this is a direct reverse of the scenario, and in others it follows or precedes the original mission in the timeline.

I don't know what it is but there's something heartwarming about walls around an ore field with a refinery at the entrance. Just me?

it's not only you, but also me :)
but somehow it more remembers me Tiberian Sun mission where mutants were hiding near with a river and you also have protected by walls tiberium field at the centre of your base.

I have played quite a lot of Twisted Insurrection recently, it might have been a subconscious decision.

I'm not sure about the placement of the Beacon. I would perhaps put it where the War Factory is, because if you have V3 Rockets in this mission, that you had in Soviet 3 in original, it's destruction seems pretty easy from the mainland. You know, to put it more center stage.

Also I would maybe put some repair IFV's around it and more engineers. To really emphasize the furious Allied research.

While this is not the mission I look most forward to, I am nonetheless intrigued. I think you kept the original mission feel, that is destroying the Beacon, while switching sides. And I think this is a good idea, if it was about building the beacon, it would mirror the Soviet 3 almost exactly, plus you have mission 8, I believe, The Peace Treaty, where I guess you can have the Soviet player build it.

Now I really wanna know what your plan for Allied 5 is. Are we gonna defend the Nuke Silos against spies and Allied commandos? I can't wait to find out.

You make some good points. Since the Allies are putting so much effort into heavily defending the city, it would make sense for the Beacon to also be placed strategically.

Description

"In an attempt to stop the American resistance in Washington D.C from spreading into the heart of the capital, the Soviets deployed a Psychic Beacon to subdue them. But the Allies captured the device shortly after, and began examining the technology in hopes of unlocking the secrets of Mind Control. When Soviet high command learned of this, they immediately sent a task force to destroy their research before it could become a threat."

This version of the mission is one of many different iterations, as we struggled to decide how we could make this mission unique (rather than just having it be the same as the original "Big Apple" mission in a different setting). Let us know what you think of this concept!
