Quake 1 (1996-1997) For Engine DarkPlaces a cult computer game in the genre of first-person shooter, developed by id Software and released July 22, 1996 (full version). Full Version Game & Mod.

Darkplaces supports external music to be played, To do this:

First create a directory under ID1 named sound.

Put the music files here, Can be either ogg or mp3. Ogg is mostly recommended, You can convert music files here

The content is free of viruses and Trojans. It is unique because all maps are changed by adding many objects and subjects. Tested in 2016-2017 by me personally and not only. Passability at the level of easy, Medium and Complex - pass. I abandoned this game and further map changes, as I started playing other games, so I did not test the last secret difficulty level - Nightmare. But only a select few will know about it, so the original main tested. In Nightmare, the difference is that rockets and grenades fly as fast as I got on Hard. And So the rest of the difference I personally did not see. ^_^

Nightmare makes the monsters even more deadly, giving them faster reaction times and attacks. For example, the Shambler can now fire its lightning beam twice as fast (and requires you to wait double the time due to an invisible second beam) and Ogres can now launch its grenades at an alarming rate. Vore pods also move at a faster rate, it is impossible to outrun the pod. Enemies cannot be so easily stunned in Nightmare, after the first stun the player must wait five seconds before the enemy can be stunned again.

Note that it is impossible to reach the Nightmare mode Teleporter via normal means (without using Console Commands) after Episode 4: The Elder World has been completed. This means that it is advisable to play that Episode only after the completion of the other three. As Episode 4 needs to be completed prior to accessing Shub-Niggurath's Pit, this means it is also impossible to change to Nightmare mode before the final level of Quake without the usage of Cheats. Using target lines or an automatically executed configuration, it is possible to set Quake to normally go to a particular difficulty without needing to go through the Introduction level; this functionality is quite useful for custom levels or even commercial add-ons, such as Q2 or Dark Hour, that may not have a built-in method to select difficulty.
