I think right now that a reasonable Q1 approximation of forest / jungle can happen. Might need to cheat on appearances a bit.
Even with engine advances in this series it still amounts to X triangles on display = Y framerate inverted. The larger X gets the smaller Y gets.
What I do as of now is impose a display limit around 5000 units.
When I get back to testing this engine, I'll find out how much outdoors I can cram into that and have it stay above 30 fps.
Quake Hack waits patiently for its dev time while I code away on Archon.
Some months will go into Archon, then I'll see what I can do with this project.
