Pulse is a MOD for Half-Life 1. Pulse takes place in Black Mesa after the incident. You are famous scientist Gordon Freeman. In the beginning of Pulse, you are in Surface Lab A Security Complex, a lab and security station on the absolute surface of the Black Mesa Research Facility. You are working with your scientist pals when one scientist working with a hazardous radiation meter detects high radiation amounts coming from all over. They radio into the Administrator's office, the office of Dr. Wallace Breen. Instead of Breen answering, they pick up a remote conversation between Breen and an unknown voice. "It's done," Breen said. "The xenian crystal triggered a dementional rift between Earth and the boarderworld Xen. Now let's get to the surface!" "I'm sure my employers will be pleased," says the unknown voice, and then silence fills the room followed by an explosion. The other scientists are amazed that the Administrator of Black Mesa...

We finally are back and releasing more information on Pulse. It's been long enough, eh? We've posted some new screenshots and we have some news for you on development.

Ah, it's December again. It sure is cold outside, but our motherboards and CPUs are hot as hell because we've been working them hard this month with Pulse's development! And, it is also the best and jolliest time of the year that we have always been looking forward to with great anticipation. That's right: it's time for Pulse's December Media Release! Oh, and it's the holidays too. He he.

If you check the image gallery for Pulse, you will see that we have added five or so new images. They are all screenshots taken in the chapter "The Lambda Project" which, if you couldn't find it out from the chapter title, takes place in the Lambda Reactor Complex. In this chapter, Gordon discovers that he must completely shut down each level and section of the Lambda Core before he can proceed to retrieve Breen's administrative profile and escape the Lambda Complex all together. Gordon also runs by a new weapon in this chapter, one that was not part of the original Half-Life weapon list. The military seem to have evacuated to the highest area of the Lambda Complex, Level A, due to the high amount of unconquerable infestation of Xenian invaders on the lower levels of the complex. That means that you don’t run into many soldiers in this chapter so ammo is short at times, but you will find that Level A of the Lambda Complex has become a base/haven for the soldiers until they are ready to pull out of there and move up to the surface for evacuation. As you find out in the beginning of Pulse, Dr. Breen's administrative profile was located in the Lambda Complex on Level A in some type of office. So, the profile is most likely highly guarded by soldiers and, once Gordon retrieves the profile, he must follow the route of the soldiers and escape the Lambda Complex with hopes of quickly reaching the surface and returning to the Surface Lab A Security Complex. Currently, we are developing our 23rd map of Pulse. Our goal is to have at least 50 maps when the game is completed.

We're sorry to say that Pulse's release date might be pushed back a bit. Due to my busy schedule lately, Pulse's anticipated release date may move from Spring of 2008 to August of 2008 in the summer. This isn’t certain yet, but since there is much more free time to work on Pulse in the summer and we want to deliver you a complete and bug-free product, you might just have to wait until August. But, we feel that, once you play through some of Pulse, you will be thinking that it was worth the wait.

While we are working on parts of Pulse that are in the middle of the game, we are also thinking of getting a head start on the ending of Pulse just so that we know that the ending has been created and secured. The ending of Pulse involves some mystery and a plot change which leads to a second installment of Pulse. The second installment of Pulse has already been confirmed but has not yet been started and will not be started until around Winter of 2008 or even Spring of 2009, depending on when Pulse 1 is released. The ending of Pulse will certainly be a surprising one for those of the gamers that have been following Pulse's storyline throughout the game.

So, that's our December Media Release and News segment. We hope we impressed our viewers and we will see you in the new year! Happy holidays and don't forget to keep watching Pulse.
