When the war gets too long the best way to finish it is giving to someone more power and superiority, Praetorian Industries was inaugurated with that objetive, with the simple goal unbalance the balance that is taking each race to self-destruction. At least that was the goal, but now it's Praetorian Industries who is becoming more powerful, using its fleet of vessels previously used for testing prototypes. Now they're not only selling belical technologies, they also seek to end the war with them as winners.

At last!, good news about Gratuitous Space Battles and PI Mod development.

Hi there Moddb community, as you may notice, a lot of time passed since the last news post. The mod progress never was stopped, just delayed due personal and organization problems BUT some great news are here!
As some of you already know, Cliffski (the creator of GSB) gave us some interesting, awesome and powerful gifts with the patchs 1.57 and 1.58. Here is the additions list of these patchs:

Cliffski wrote: 1) New Feature: Support for longer race descriptions.
2) New Feature: Modding support for custom bullets textures.3) Support for return-to-sender capability on missiles.
4) Support for more than one plasma missile in flight at any one time, per launcher (if configured for that module)
5) Support for flak guns (bullet modules with area-of-effect damage).

When i saw that list, my mind exploded due the HUGE ammount of ideas that came to me with the so wanted Custom Bullet Texture feature. PI was needing it from the beggining, and at last, it is here and it is already implemented with some awesome looking results.
About the Return To Sender feature for missile Guidance Scrambler Beams, i have to say that it is simply awesome and really fun to use, it combined with Praetorian Weaponry makes the battles more than awesome.
Another very wanted feature was the Area Of Effect, and now we have it, but i have to say that i was expecting something more customizable, more flexible. Oh well, it stills a great and EXTREMELY powerful and hard to balance feature, yep. Even better, some modders like Ponyus found some awesome uses for it, as example one of them allows to use fighters as Kamikaze ships.

About the progress of PI, it was very delayed this last month, but i've finally learned to make the codes that are needed for add ships to the game, and i'm making these codes by myself and i have to say that i'm very sastified with my progress speed.But there are many things that still to do yet, and talking about that, here is the updated To Do List:
