To celebrate the opening of Pirates Of The Caribbean: At Worlds End our mod team has decided to bring all Mod DB visitors a taste of what we have been working on during the past few years. The build mod is presently into its 14th version and is so loaded with features it would be impossible to list them all. For anyone who presently owns the game (even if you dislike it) give this mod a shot - it is worth it! If you like pirates, boats or heck anything set during the age of sail - this is the mod for you. We have created a total-conversion, everything is enhanced (such as the new RPG mechanics and the significant changes to combat, or the fact that you can now walk around on boats, hire a crew with officers and assign them jobs, not to mention the new realistic textures).
So to get gaming download the Pirates of the Caribbean mod here.
Special Thanks to the crew over at PiratesAhoy.com for working on this brilliant and massive modification.
I asked the team that and they told me that it'd be too resource heavy to put it into a single executable. Plus Build 13 FULL is corrupted and the team is working on that.
Wish I had the game :(, good work!
WOOT! i just saw the movie! when i saw this mod i said for myself, "aww... it's not a hl2 mod" then i see it's a mod for the original PC game! and i have it! YAY!!!! thank god my aunt bought it for me for Xmas!
wehoo! great work! downloading NOW!
Yes! This seems like the first decent POTC game. It is good you emphasize on the fact that this is not like the terrible original game, but a total conversion of it in terms of actually making a playable game outta the **** they sold as the first POTC game.
I wanna try this very much, as I am an avid fan of sea fights and even more - of tea clippers and big sailing ships. Will be great to give it a run.
Sounds really interesting. I might even buy the first POTC game for the sole purpose of playing this. Cheers.
Yes Betheda screwed up royal with this game. Thanks to Peiter's team they have brought the game into a new standard. I would actually recommend buying the game just to play this mod. Last I checked you can find the game in Bargain Bins of many well known retailers - or alternatively there is always the internet to find a copy.
Just one question though - when you guys release a new version, why make people download and install the few previous versions? Seems difficult and hard to do, why not make an upgrade pack and a full version which runs without depending on prior releases being installed?
