this is a pre-release. I am making it for a contest, so it will be average. but I plan new textures ^^

as for blocky, I have tried non-blocky. it is hard o-o I can try again though. ^^

Yah the problem with displacements in portal is its not flat anymore, which means no portals allowed! Oh well, nice looking mod btw :D

Eh, I don't like it. Try to give it bumps and such. Blocky is good in building like areas but not in a place like the Aztec.

To dark, flat walls and no color. It also looks unfinished by a long shot. Like its all block brushes.

it's for the UCC. it would have custom textures in P:AAA ^^

I did that for my map. Worked fine. Make sure they are not func_details or something like that and they are in a skybox or an area. (Displacements are not solid and will cause leaks if used incorrectly.)

I think it's the fact they're on top of the normal surface x.x
EG, hazard water with trigger_hurt sorta overlaps. x.x

You know you could just clip some stuff, like random clips in the entrance and exit, and offset the planks on the bridge, real easy fix.

you can rest assured, I have never seen that pic o.o
plus, my goal was to make an aztec-theme place for storyline reasons. the chambers are meant to all be completeable normally, but decayed, so you need to use portals. that's why I used a rope bridge.

still, nice find. it's not an uncommon idea, but it looks near exactly alike. o.o
