Portal actually really works google-translated. Ratman's scribblings become the ramblings of a legit madman, Glados and the turrets become botched AIs spouting weird nonhuman metaphors and going off on tangents, and it's all just not-garbled enough to try to sort of almost see the meaning underneath it. It all creates a very surreal and unsettling vibe that... fits the original.
