There is a problem with that. The worker doesn't have a build queue, and the "switch to fake buildings" is classed as an upgrade to the commandset of the worker, so it can be applied instantly (0.5 seconds, to be exact). But if you want to implement the same mechanism in a factory with a build queue, the orders on the queue need to be completed before you can switch the commandset.

I seen mods with a icon that lets you switch to a second menu to pick additional units. Im not saying that is whats going on here, but it might.
