Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.
If Kiith Nabaal is known for a lack of mobility due to their reliance on static installations and clearly defined logistics chains, they are also known for some of the most terrifying firepower in the Hiigaran arsenal - and that at a minimal cost.
The Siege Platform is the kind of technology that shows this dedication to Hiigaran combat fleets despite the less combat-savvy nature of Nabaal. Based on a simple space freighter hull with a basic platform thurst system, the Siege Platform was built solely for long-range fire support.
Capable of being used in a defensive as well as offensive nature, this weapon system out-ranges most ships and can fire far beyond its own sensor range. Accuracy however is not something the Siege Platform is known for - then again this is not something that is required of such a ship.
Devestating shrapnel and EM radiation bursts are unleashed by every shell this weapon fires. Capable of disabling or destroying anything small caught in the blast radius, there is virtually no way to escape a coordinated Nabaal bombardment.
It comes as somewhat of a relief to the enemies of Hiigara that the Shock Shells fired by the Siege Platform are generally ill-suited for destroying larger targets quickly. That is however no reason not to fear them. When protected by adequate defences and other ships, Siege Platforms can lay down withering bombardments from well behind the front lines - safe from enemy fire, while making anything in front of them feel decidedly insecure...

I'm not sure what it is about them, but I rather like their design.

Those Platforms look good, I am still not sure where the weapons are.
wait... what? The thing is one huge space gun. How can you miss the weapon? It's nothing but gun and engines.

Nice guns, but want to say 2 things:
1) Why cannon itself is so strangely colored?
2) I think badge on one of the plates will look nice.
badges will be added to all the ships that dont have them yet sometime after the alpha 7 release.
the cannons color stems from the fact that it is made of 3 segments which collapse when in transport mode. As these are all copy/paste, it looks a wee bit stripy. Basically, it was me being lazy. Only black looked crap and only grey did too so I went with this.
