Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.

A klingon from feudal Japan, a Klingon Samurai! Boahahahahahahaha!

Or a Samurai Klingon, whichever you prefer.

(P.S.: Samurai in war usually wore a banner on their back, that's why I think of Samurai.)

I've known about this stuff so long its kinda weird seeing it in an update as I keep forgetting that it's only been shown to us haha, Not my personal choice when playing Vaygr but he can sure as hell make a raid more entertaining

Well the reason the commanders aren't in capital ships is because we didnt wanna make it possible to get a battlecruiser - and an enhanced one at that - too early in the game.

yeah, well, maybe with commanders in capital ships the vaygrs will be more overpower than they are now(i mean, any fighter attack with liijan involved is lethal, same thing with vekur and veenir, but in their respective "fields").
but if an supreme vaygr commander betray the others and kill then and take their places with his HUGE and special captal ship(not a serious suggestion, but still awesome)

Umm well the Vaygr already have a game ender, and its quite easy for the commanders to die if they engage, say, anything that isnt their size class without the proper support, so they're good to have but don't dominate because it's just one ship

yes, except from veenir, that, well, capture the bigger ships, but with company they are extremely lethal, the ship that make the job done is the dark omen, that is completely AWESOME! and wins the game in 1 min...that is power...

they are commanders, don't chuck noris....and the dank omen can hyperspace that supplies the missing speed. ;) (just arguing)

The fun thing about being a developer is you can say nanana... and then do whatever you like and really annoy all your fanbase xD

There are/were capital class heroes planned, they just haven't been made yet. They will obviously be hard to get.

The point of heroes is to boost nearby ships, giving your entire fleet more bonuses (and as a result making the vaygr fleet + hero superior to every other fleet ingame). However, if the hero dies, you loose most of the bonus, thus the importance of making them vulnerable but not too simple to kill.

Also the Dark Omen is not a hero, it's a game ender. There is a subtle difference. p.s. dark omen should not be able to HS, that is a bug I forgot to fix :D

Doesnt fit on the main model.

While I agree, I've come to accept them. All the vaygr heroes have flags and even if they don't fit, it needs them... and after having IPS spend at least 2 hours fiddling around with putting them in different positions, I can say there is nowhere they really fit better.

Description

Little known throughout the galaxy but renowned amongst the Vaygr, Commander Lijan is a Warlord of a special breed. Not out for conquest or slaughter, Lijan fights only to perfect his tactics and his mastery of war... he fights for Honor - something not seen too often these days.

Leading battles from his Laser Corvette, Lijan favors lightning fast strikes using strike craft and corvettes, blasting holes in enemy formations and falling back before they can react. In particular Lijan favors vaygr laser weapons and knows a few tricks to optimizing their energy output.

Any fleet supported by Lijan can be expected to execute incredibly deadly flanking manuevers, making use of their heavy weapons and superior speed. If anything, facing Lijan means you can expect a very early attack designed to overwhelm and crush you before you can even mount a successful defense.
