and they were said to be compromised of egyptians , arabs and sons of mamluks

Thanks! What you are describing is correct, and the al-Halqa often fought as cavalry. However, the term thaqlah is better as a generic term for heavy infantry.

Another new unit model for Egypt, who were kind of left in the dust as other Muslim factions were made.

Thaqlah were shock troops in the Ayyubid army. They are well-armoured and armed with the tabar, serving as a more numerous and easily recruitable alternative to the sultanate's elite (and much more well-known) tabardariyyah.
