A world map mod for Medieval II Total War Kingdoms, set from 1204 to 1648. It features 30 playable factions, hundreds of new units, and completely revamped rosters and visuals.
The finished terrain map, made by TheVarangian. Notable new features include:
-Equal area projection (regions like Italy or Japan will now be less cramped)
-Deep sea can only be crossed by later period ships (15th century)
-Navies can now sail under (or through?) South America
-Some sailable rivers (i.e. Amazon, Yellow)
-New Zealand! (may or may not have a settlement; still being discussed)
More details will be posted as the campaign is closer to being game-ready, but expect a new settlement distribution, unique wonder buildings (i.e. Hagia Sophia, al-Ka'aba), and more realistic climates (especially in Africa).
Very nice.
If it's a real ground_typ map, then you're only using half of the maximum size. Is this saving due to the concern that the campaign would not take too long to load, or is it due to the excessive ocean volume?
It may have been an oversight. I'll be sure to let him know.
Nice! and thanks for digging out some of the rivers here and there, I feel like its usually an overlooked thing on tws and mods! Would be neat if some parts of the nile, mississippi, danube, and volkhov rivers would be navigable too- then novgorod could have a little riverport and there could be some troop transport navigation to show off the highways those places were. Unless it would look wierd on the map when it pans out
