Normandy '44: European Theater combines a higher level of realism with a more elaborate doctrine system, which incorporates almost 50 different military units that took part in the period of Jun-Sept 1944. This spectrum ranges from divisions of free Polish and French units serving under the main allied armies to volunteers from the Eastern Front that served in the German Wehrmacht. This is only a small portion of the doctrine variety however, as we feature numerous well known units of all factions as well. The mod also features numerous new abilities and custom made units each with a completely revamped size and structure. Between custom made units and structures with historically correct skins, Normandy '44 offers over 150 NEW UNITS, making for an almost endless variety of different scenarios and unit actions. Combined these factors provide for an experience unlike any other mod for CoH!
Posting this a tad early, I hope you N'44 enthusiasts can forgive me. The next unit will be posted 12/2/11.
The first featured unit in our Holiday Campaign is the Soviet ISU-152. The ISU-152 mounted a 152.4mm ML-20S Model 1937 Howitzer-Gun. Hitting the battlefield in late 1943 the ISU-152 was an improved version of the SU-152. The SU-152 was mounted on the KV-1S tank base and needed to be modernized, so the ISU-152 used the new IS tank as a base. Both proved incredibly effective against German armor and were known for their ability to easily destroy the heavily armored Tiger and Panther tanks, and so came to be known as the Zveroboy, "Beast Killer". The ISU-152 is available with the Elite Guards doctrine, with the 63rd Guards Heavy Tank Battalion under the 11th Guards Army, and also with the 47th Guards Breakthrough Tank Regiment under the 2nd Guards Tank Corps. It is also featured as a squadron call in. Please remember all this data is tentative and may change for the final release of v2.0.
Awesome.
…I see I am going to have to learn to master the flanks.
You should make the reload much much slower.. Like 20 seconds.. But highly damaging.
Just a suggestion.
I totally agree! Not even the M3 Stuart fires that fast...wtf?
"Please remember all this data is tentative and may change for the final release of v2.0." i think they are going to chance it
Yes, We're looking into changing the rate of fire.
Red Alert 3 Soviet OST, eh?
Additionally, whattabeast!
A reload time of 30-40 seconds is more accurate.
(buried)
Wait...if this is really early, Then the patch 2.0 is going to come in the year 2015?
No! October 1st 2012. And now we've had a new update again!
besides..I think the thing should fire faster...
omfg ever heard of realism, a stuart that has a 37mm shells fire slower than a thing that had a separate charge and round and had a caliber of 152mm tad bit OP don't you think ?
omg ever heard of Sarcasm?
Do you realize nobody knows that? It's a text message, so it appears to be serious. =__=
You know the existence of common sense? No? Then buy it - _ -
Shouldn't the 152mm be able to knock out the Jagdpanzer in 1 shot?
It should, but if it misses its shot one on one it was dead the rate of fire was 2-4 rounds per minute! Compare that with the Jagdpanthers 18 rounds per minute and we see the real shortcomings.
Gotta say that reload is awfully fast lol. 152mm shells aren't exactly easy to load ;)
Uh.... is it supposed to be that small?
