Normandy '44: European Theater combines a higher level of realism with a more elaborate doctrine system, which incorporates almost 50 different military units that took part in the period of Jun-Sept 1944. This spectrum ranges from divisions of free Polish and French units serving under the main allied armies to volunteers from the Eastern Front that served in the German Wehrmacht. This is only a small portion of the doctrine variety however, as we feature numerous well known units of all factions as well. The mod also features numerous new abilities and custom made units each with a completely revamped size and structure. Between custom made units and structures with historically correct skins, Normandy '44 offers over 150 NEW UNITS, making for an almost endless variety of different scenarios and unit actions. Combined these factors provide for an experience unlike any other mod for CoH!

A friendly update on progress and personal life etc.

Hello everyone; I just wanted to reassure everyone that progress is being made.

I have been quite busy as of late with life though. As a university student studying history I am blessed with more freetime than most, but there are specific times every term in which I need to focus on 2-3 essays during the span of a week. On another note as of March 8th I am now 20 years old. I still hardly believe that I have such a following, to the point where I have even reiceived money.

I cannoy express my thanks enough. It has been a rather odd semester for me in University, as my father now works in a different continent. Regardless enough about me and onto what you actually want to hear!

As of now I have almost finished implementing every new model which I have at my disposal. There are a few left and then there still models I do not have at the moment.

Ruhr has been tasked with completing penetration tables for our vehicles. Many have complained (and rightfully so) that there are unrealistic situations occuring. While the plaveholder values for Armour is done, the lack of updated penettation tables is the issue.

Zupa is continuing his work redoing skins as you all have seen. I have also tasked him with revamping our image. As it has been a year with this modification I saw it appropriate to rebrand ourselves. Partially due to new leadership and partially due to the logic gap in the name.

The new title for those who have noticed is "The Great Crusade 44-45". I found this more general name to allow more leeway in structure and historical representation. If you know what the name is from you get a cookie. :)

As for infantry, I am at a crossroads. I can either wait until Zupa has completed his skins which will be easier and redo units then, or I can try to do so now. It will take a painstaking amount of time either way. On a final note aftet some discussion we have decided to reduce squad sizes. The largest size will now be 8-9 men. Crews will be smaller and teams and squad sizes adjusted to represent purpose. So an infantry section is larger than a recon section, etc.

This decision has been made to increase performance, improve gameplay and help us fine tune balance easier. I still aim for a realistic experience, but I have to cut things down somewhere in order to allow more access to this mod and a more stable experience.

For those wondering where my personal tastes on realism versus gameplay are rooted in; Cdv's Blitzkrieg is in some respects a model.

Congratulations on your birthday! I wish you the best! I would really appreciate the occasional update - even if you don't release anything - please don't keep us in the dark. I love this mod (it's my favourite mod, since I found out about it, and BK - in my opinion - made some unfortunate decisions), and hearing its every heartbeat is morale for me... I look forward to your new releases! Keep up the good work!

Hey I'm a Political Science and History Double Major and i know all about essays and reading and how much of a pain it is. Isn't it amazing that it seems that every essay is due in the same week if mot the same day. Its just great to write paper a paper on Julius Caesar while also working on one dealing with campaign finances. Keep the good work, its one of my favorite mods and good luck.

Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force! You are about to embark upon a great crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers in arms on other fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.
Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle hardened, he will fight savagely.
But this is the year 1944! Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of 1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man to man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our home fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to victory!
I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full victory!
Good Luck! And let us all beseech the blessings of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.
-- Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower

For all those non history buffs :)
Also Happy Birthday and Good Luck in your studies!!! Looking forward to more awesome gameplay
