Always wondered... what does FD stand for? First time I saw it I guessed it stood for "Fire department" but then I actually saw it on a ambulance and I started wondering what does it stands for?
Still Fire Department. The FDNY runs the emergency stuff, too. But there are also private companies that run ambulances.
