Neptune is a single-player modification for Half-Life 2, taking place entirely outside the mother game's universe. Set primarily onboard a mysterious and desolate cruise liner, floating in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, Neptune allows the player to slowly unravel the dark and disturbing past of the ship as he/she explores its once-grand rooms, corridors, concert halls, restaurants, bars and maintenance areas. Taking influence from games such as System Shock 2, BioShock, Thief: Deadly Shadows and Silent Hill, Neptune is an atmospheric, narrative-driven, horror-based shooter; an exercise in videogame storytelling and tense level design. It is expected to be released in Q3 2009.

Sorry for the double post.

I'd like to ask about the npcs outlooks.
For example, why the splicers in Bioshock never have a unique look?
Even most of the characters are hard to tell between differences.
Except the few ones.

However, what they dress are variety and vivid.
Wearing masks is also a good option.

Therefore, players won't have the feeling that he/she killed the same guy twice.
It's very important for a shooter.

You can kill 1000 antlions without the same feeling.
It makes no differences.

NPCs are not, it will be dull when you see two same faces on the screen.

Unless you want to use the facial expressions feature in Source engine.
That will be a revolution choice.
Make enemies to do facial expressions is unique.

Just ask.

Cook is an one-off character, as many will be.

It's not feasible for a team our size (we have ONE character modeller, basically) to make EVERY encounter 100% original, but we'll have a fair few 'types' with a fair few skins, and the odd entirely unique one every now and then.

Looks ace, doesn't it?

Curse is, for me, the most exciting single-player mod prospect around at the moment. It looks astonishing.
