In order to advance in rank as a shinobi, a Shimura ninja must not only pass whatever test has been put in front of them by their lord, but they must also devise a new seal or method for keeping the clan's secrets protected from prying eyes. It is because of this that security around the Shimura compound is constantly evolving, making it nearly impossible to crack without inside help.
