"Muslim Conquest 635 AD" is a submod of "Rise of Islam 634 AD" mod. There are a few things that I don't like about the mod, so I decided to make a submod to add various items, optimizing the mod, edit the troops, do items balancing. And be WARNED!! 1. It will NOT be 100% historically accurate. If you want to play more accurate mod about this time period, I suggest you play the base mod. 2. I will not answer any comments from guest account. If you want an answer, please make an account.

Just a suggestion, i believe the Sassanids used axes and maces more often than swords.

Yes, I'm aware of that, that's why Sassanid will have 1 dedicated Maceman. And a lot of their unit will use axe. But the weapon in my screenshots will act as replacer. I will change all of them when I work on weapons. Now, I will just focused on Armors.

Also i was just thinking of this but purple color was more expensive than gold ! :-S So you should not use this color i think.

Disagree..
1. Gold is more noble than purple. What a mere "purple" compared to the shininess of the gold.
2. We already have purple robe for Sassanid in base mod.
3. for Roman, yes, maybe. for Sassanid, I don't think so, just search the picture of Sassanid leader, it will mostly show red glamour robe and a lots of gold.

1 & 2 Do what you want but the fact that the base mod already use purple doesn't mean it's historically accurate, cause there is many errors enven in the base mod.

3 Purple dye was really hard to make that's why it was so expensive for everybody as expensive as gold or more i don't know exactly. There is many things more expensive than gold in the world.

If you make hisorically inspired mod, it's your choice to do what you want but don't pretend inaccurate things to justify your mod.

I never said that my mod is more historical than the base mod. Even if you read in my mod description you will found the "NOT 100% HISTORICALLY ACCURATE" sentence. Read my Article too, there I explain that there will be some historical inaccuracy. Read my comment in comment section or my comment in my post. Just read first before accuse something.

Here's my reason:
1. Some part of my submod will be different from real life for the sake of gameplay. Like I will make rashidun mainly ride camel as no other faction will ride one except Rashidun. And this purple color thing.
2. Personal Preference. This submod is my personal tweaked version of Rise of Islam that maybe some change will be based from my Personal Preference.

So if you don't want to be historical accurate why you argue about facts you can verify easily on internet to prove its historically accurate ? You should have say "OK i know its maybe not historical but i like purple and its my mod so i do what i want" that's your right. And i have read all your articles but was thiking you would be more near to reality. You have a great talent in 3D and modding. I was thinking it would be 90% historically accurate not 60-75%.

Fair point.
And sorry for my high temper.

Right now my goal is to release an alpha, and I'm done with Sassanid Armors assets. It need some time to re-do Sassanid assets. So it will stay like that unless someone offer his help to do some retexture on the assets or I have extra free time to do them.

The second faction I work after Rashidun is Sassanid, and I know about "Tyrian Purple" after I work on my third faction, Roman.
A lot of thing is easily verified on internet, but the problem is, sometime we don't know if "that thing" need verification or not.

No problem ! I just wanted to told you, you have right indeed to do it your way if you feel it better. And also i understand it could be boring remake many things each time someone tell you something ! You're doing a great work anyway ! That is maybe not perfect on historical side (and you told it will not be beperfect on that side) but it is really good work and it is the most important !

I feel Sassanid soldiers look a bit simple. They need more work on their armor. Good luck in designing them. Do you have any plans for Sassanid cataphracts?

Description

Here's the Sassanid Peasant. They will wear purple and blue cloth. No shield. Some of them will even use stick as a weapon.
