This mod intends to add various weapons from all around the globe to Misery mod, weapons of every stalker's dream. Suggestions, Feedbacks and points of view are very welcomed ! Have fun with these new toys !
Next installment of TAZ will include complete ammunition system overhaul. Ammunition will be reworked to be as close to real life counterparts as possible, using professional ballistic tests data as information source. Some ammo will be added, some will be replaced, and every single one will be remade.
On the image you can see tests of various cartridges in ballistic gellatin, that has similar consistence to human muscle tissue, and as such can be used to simulate effects of bullet wounds.
From top to bottom:
Standard 9x19mm FMJ cartridge
9x19mm Winchester 147gr Black Talon JHP
9x19mm Winchester 127gr +P+ Ranger-T
9mm Slovakian THV armor-piercing (vs level IIIA kevlar vest)
You can clearly see the that commercial hollow point loads are more powerful than conventional FMJ due to their extreme expanding, doing more than 50% damage more. Armour piercing cartridge does the least damage, as it's solid structure doesn't allow for expanding.
All of these cartridges will be included in TAZ, with the exception of last cartridge (we will have 7N21 russian armour piercing ammo instead). They will have balanced price, based on their availability, and more powerful ammo will be available to purchase from Nimble.

Those ballistic tests look so grim. Cool to know that we will have new amunition. Will there be new shotgun sheels aswell, like darts and flachette?

OMG first thing came up in my mind was "VAGINA"! I was confused for a moment there!
Interesting, this does concern me though.
In my experience playing mods that adds new ammo types like AO or Misery it self, i recalled that the GUI is a bit off when it comes to showing total ammo for custom based ones, i'm guessing this matter has finally been resolved?
Unfortuantely, no. This is an issue with CoP game and so far is impossible to fix. In ShoC and CS it worked well (you probably remember shotguns had three different ammunition types there and there was no problem), but in CoP it gets glitchy.
Good to see that pistols become more useful. First thing that made my first contact with Misery2 (after playing Misery1) was lack of power with pistols.
Seems like walking with long-barrel revolver over the Zone remain good idea. Hunting lawless and whatnot.
Just a damage value change by referring to these professional data ? Are you kidding ?
What else would you want to see? Unfortunately STALKER engine doesn't allow implementing realistic damage and ballistic system.
If you know how to improve that system without hours of coding then I'd be glad if you shared that (no irony here)
If you have these time looking for these non-useful data, a real "Diablo in FPS" system should be created (unique items & dynamic unique weapon drops).
