Detector problems Thread - The Armed Zone mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

Hello! ive recently noticed a CTD with the Veles detector, and after some further testing, the Bear detector. the yellow one (the shitty one) is working okay.

its crashing whenever i try to use it by pressing O (default) and search for artifacts, crashes before it appears on screen.

this is the crash log when i tried using the Bear detector:

when i try to use the veles detector it says pretty much the same, but [dev_detector_4_holster] instead. (so just the number 2 and 4 exchanged)

hope ive submitted enough information for you guys to fix it/tell me if ive done something wrong,

Do you use them together with gun or by itself? If yes, what gun is this? Does it happen with other guns too? Also please tell us what patch version you have installed

All detectors are working fine, no one has ever reported such issue. The only possible reason is modified files.

i tried both switching directly from main guns to detector and holstering weapons,then using detector.'

latest patch, 1.09 or something like that, downloaded from the patch link in the main TAZ moddb page.

i havent modified anything other than using crying bandits, the Realistic Rain & Thunderstorm Sounds, Extended Radio Songs and Spawn Dialog(this didnt work for me) addon.

i honestly dont know what to tell you, when i installed COP and then misery, i installed it to my HDD instead of SSD so i movend the entire folder afterwards if that matters.

What was the software used for extracting? 7zip or something else? Extracting TAZ and Misery with anything else than 7zip is not wise, you may lose files in the progress.

i used winrar. but i have re installed everything now, and im beginning to think that i may have not installed TAZ properly if at all the first time, since i started with an ak-47 the last time, and with the stg-44 now, and the icons/inventory layout is quite different. so this makes me feel.... stupid lol

okay, so it works as it should now and i have even more weapons available in Owls trading screen, so i think that i just had a failed install the first time around, and that broke when i tried to use the veles detector.

on a completely different note, is nimble not supposed to have a regular trading window, so that i dont have to save/load spam until i get what i want?

It's always the extracting tool that screws things up, that's why we always advise people to use 7zip.

Nimble is still the nimble dealer he is, making him a typical trader isn't something easy to do.

oh okay, ill keep that in mind for future installs.

oh okay, i just read a comment somewhere saying that you had said you wanted to change him into regular trader, but with his weapons/armor. but i guess that was just wrong then.

There are still plans for Nimble to be trader (it's desperately needed esp with current problems with "waves" on normal traders), it's just that we didn't get to make it work yet
