this looks wonderful, would be amazing if it could pierce multiple targets with one shot (maybe with an upgrade or a specific firing mode)

exactly, but a bit less powered up (so with less recharging time) to maintain the status of static defensive structure that deals with several enemy units
Waveforce cannon sounds overused.
I would suggest a lazer that upon impact, splits into 2 lazers 45 degree of the impact location.
