The 'Middle Earth Roleplaying Project' aims to recreate J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth in the Creation engine of 'Skyrim'. The player will be plunged into Middle Earth near the end of the Third Age, not long before the War of the Ring breaks out.

Those are some seriously awesome weapons, can't wait to bash some uruk-hai heads with those!
Humm well, they did have Spear animations in skyrim They MAYBE bringing them back in a dlc or patch or something along those lines I hope they do it will make those spears 1000% more epik
You must be mistaken, there are no spear animations from vanilla.
no, you sir are mistaken... they were made for the game and never entered into the released version game, so you're correct as far 'vanilla' we were sold.
no, I think you are mistaken... they were not made for the vanilla game and were not put in, but the animations were made by the bethesda team for "game jam" after Skyrim's release. Game Jam is basically were they had finished the game and released it, and they just wanted to try stuff out that they didn't put in the game in the first place. They made some seriously cool stuff.
"they were not made for the vanilla game" - Yep I said that, thanks for reinforcing my point. Always nice to meet someone helpful.
Thanks to The Hologram's work the Skyrim modding community can make their own Behavior graphs. It's complicated and there is still stuff to figure out, but it's definitely possible to create a completely new set of animations for specific weapons, without replacing anything.
All the weapons are awesome, but the axes are divined! They look so epicly brutal, just like the ones used in the films :D Can't wait to see gimli's axe, for that will be even better I guess, if you're already putting that much detail in the rohirrim ones.
what axe in particular? the two-bladed one, the walking one, his throwing axes or what?
Pretty much all of them (if they're all going to be implemented) but especially the walking axe.
the rohirrim axes are modeled after real ones too, I believe they call these Bearded axes, after their elongated cutting edge. (Oblivion's iron war-axe was basically a tiny bearded axe.
I've always loved the weapons of Rohan!
Some great progress right there :) keep it up!
holy crap amazing lolza
It's so awesome to think these are just weapons for Rohan!
In Skyrim, it's just the same weapons all over again, but here the variety is amazing.
And they are detailed so good as well!
Really good job on these! :-D
Just to clarify, the spears, the axes, and the three swords between the spear in the center and the sword on the far right will all be attainable by "normal" means in game. There will also be a Rohirrim bow and arrows. The other four swords - (from left to right) Herugrim, Soltir, Guthwine, and Aesctir - are all unique weapons held by named characters. There is an idea that the player will be able to acquire a single replica of any one of these blades; however, the originals will not be attainable by normal means in game for obvious reasons. Just thought I would clarify that.
7 year old: DAD! CAN I PLAY WITH THESE SWORDS AND SPEARS?
Father: No son! Those are for when you're much older!
7 year old: But..they're so pretty ;~;
THAT'S HOW I FEEL RIGHT NOW!! xD But in all seriousness, I'm able to wait for years to come before I will get any idea's of ever losing hope for you guys! You're all reassuring modders for posting pictures actively, I place my full trust with your entire team!
Can you join the rohirrim or anything like that? If you can it would be awesome!!!:p
I love it when ppl just 'get' the atmosphere when modding. Great job guys now a dozen more races to grasp xD
Here's a question, is the larger axe and the spears classified under two-handed or one-handed?
Also, are custom animations being created for MERP or are they using the Bethesda ones? Specifically, there are already Skyrim spear mods that just use greatsword animations.
hold off on making the spears, they might integrate spears!
