The reapers have returned from dark space. With Earth under attack and the mass relays in a state of chaos from refugees and the councils fleet engaging reaper forces the galaxy is a mess. The outcome is unknown, the warfare is devastating. The galaxy will never be the same.

are there going to be any plans to add/subtract/rework the DotR factions?

like instead of cerberus loyalist/rebels, council paragon/renegade reaper harbinger/ravager there could be:

systems alliance
cerberus
turian hierarchy
asari republics
salarian union
migrant fleet
geth
reapers (includes collectors)
batarian hegemony
mercenaries

that is potentially 7-10 distinct factions as compared to the 3x2 that aren't really all that different from their counterparts

I could'nt agree more. I don't like the "All Council in one race style". I think that it's better to make a playable faction for each race of the council, at least the Turians, Asaris, Salarians and Humans.
